These are pictures I took almost two years ago. I've posted them on other forums, and they're kinda old, but not too old to post. I will be taking new pictures of this 'hood now that it's green out.



This neighborhood straddles The Ville and is one of North St. Louis' more stable neighborhood enclaves. African-American professionals - doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, clergy - lived in this neighborhood during the Jim Crow era in St. Louis. There are some who still live (retired) in the neighborhood or the homes have been passed down to children/grandchildren. I know because my aunt lives in the neighborhood. :wink:

Arch City, thanks for posting these pics. I love the all the pics on this forum. It is especially fun to see pics of houses and neighborhoods. These houses are classic St. Louis and you don't see them in any other city. Or I should say, I haven't found them in any city that I have visited.

I love these and can easily see after touring our more wealthy 'burbs and neighbs that many of these homes would fit in like a glove.



Have you returned to this neighborhood for more pictures? I would really like to see more of the Northside in this part of the forum since the southside is well represented.

Amazing. EVERY part of St. Louis is just FULL of great brick architecture. Let's face it; most of us probably have never seen the majority of Northside neighborhoods. Photo spreads like these have really openned my eyes.

Arch City, those are great pics of a beautiful St. Louis city neighborhood...you don't have to look hard to see the marvelous craftsmanship that went into the building of these great uniquely St. Louis homes. I'm looking forward to your next post of updated pics. Thanks!!

No, I haven't. But it is not out of the question. I might try to do it next week or so. Can't promise, but it is a small possibility.
