Real estate developer Pete Rothschild is planning to bring a live/work opportunity to the LaSalle Building at 509 Olive, on the corner of Broadway and Olive.

Rothschild plans to transform and sell all of the 13-story office building, floor by floor. The idea is to have businesses own individual floors with the option of creating residential lofts.

The blog says that this building is on Broadway and Pine, but the LaSalle building is on Olive and Broadway.

LaSalle Building

from mayorslay.com

The LaSalle Investment Company Building at Broadway and Pine Streets. This is a wonderful, tall, narrow (very narrow!) building with unique bay windows. Listing this property on the National Register will allow much-needed improvements to be made without pricing the building out of the market.

That's always been one of my favorite buildings in the city. I have some pics of it somewhere, but I don't feel like digging them up now.

Not sure how I feel about the developer, but it sounds like a cool project.

Love those bays windows...I think this and the Chemical Building are the only buildings downtown that have them...or am I wrong about that?

there is a building, all white near the famous-barr that has bay windows. it's small, but beautiful. it's next door to the newest parking garage built.
