Looks decent, from just a quick glance through the undetailed plans.

Yeah, it looks okay. I can't tell if it's supposed to be an office building, retail, etc.
I wish someone would rehab the vacant warehouse across the street from it.
Thumbs down for me.
No retail. The building turns it's back on Park Avenue. In fact, it puts a parking lot on Park (screened by a brick wall). Why would they put the entrance on Dolman, instead of Park?

Probably to mimic the warehouse on the other side of Park, whose entrance is also on Dolman. I agree that a Park entrance would be better though. It does appear to have some sort of corner entrance at Park and Dolman though.
It is office space for some kind of design company or something like that.
The Enders auto repair shop next door is on the market. As for the Bouras Broom location across Park Ave, have heard several proposals, but there is some question as to how much it would cost to rehab the building.

Makes sense, I guess. I just feel that this is a missed opportunity. Park is THE commercial street for Lafayette Square, and I would rather see retail on the first floor, facing Park, and then they can put the offices above that.

I think the alternative would force the parking to be on Dolman, which clearly would not be a good alternative to the residents. In my view it turns it s back on the Truman Pkwy as does the Dolman alley. Now some one arriving from Truman will have to make a U turn, which is awkward.
I find nothing wrong with something other then retail or entertainment. Commerce is commerce.

The mop factory appears to my untrained eye to have serious structural flaws. The whole north west facade has a huge concave in it.

Fans of World Wide Magazine will recognize one of those buildings!

Are Mark & Marty done with it?

Wasn't WWM a trip? Marty hasn't worked at the auto repair place for many years. There wasn't enough business to keep him.
Is "Mark" the main guy on WWM? Didn't he die? Or at least get sick and move?

And it looks like a big chunk of one of the walls has been replaced. I'd love to see that building rehabbed - it really is the eastern gateway to LS.

Sure, I'll write the check, and then we can all play basketball with it when it bounces.

I noticed that... good to see a project going through the process so quickly. This is much needed infill for that corner... now only if they could do something with the industrial building across the street.
This is what we need. More commercial construction to keep the momentum moving during the residential lull.
