14 unit loft/condominium rehab of old church/school buiding at the corner of 12th and Barton in Soulard.

here is a website to view: www.thebartonstreetlofts.com

It's nice to see another loft development outside of Washington Avenue in an established neighborhood offering restaurants/markets/grocers/etc...

Hope this project goes through. The building was slated for lofts a few years ago but never received enough preconstruction sales to get financing.

Yes, I remember this was marketed at one time as the Corner Lofts. Correct? I always wondered what happened to that development. Great to hear this building might get a new start!

This is right across from Vincents Market, right? I drove by this last week and noticed the construction. I meant to post it here but forgot :( Thanks for the reminder.

I checked out The Barton Street Lofts-one word, Awesome! In fact, I love them so much I reserved one. I've been on several loft tours in the Washington Ave. area and been in other lofts around the city...and in comparison, these are like no other. Each unit they offer is very unique-something for everyone. They have studios, townhomes, and lofts. The developer has spared no expense on finishes...from granite floor entryways and bathrooms, to wood oak wood flooring throughout...mosaic tiled showers and baths...and stainless steel appliances...

They are giving tours to those interested and will have a model finished some time next month.

I just wanted to let everyone know that The Barton Street Lofts have a display unit open now. It can also be viewed online through their website at http://www.thebartonstreetlofts.com by clicking on the "featured model" link.

Yah, just being funny, or sexist depending on how you look at it. I don't think I've ever seen an housing add feature a model "living" in the display add.

Wow, does anyone else think that model was blah? They need to put some paint on those walls and consider different tiles around the tub and sinks. Echhkkk...

Maybe the "model" will sell the units. I love the exposed brick though!

I don't think you were being sexist. The developer is using T&A to sell condos, for pete's sake!

PostMay 24, 2005#16

By the way, the pic where she's showing off the toilet is a little ridiculous.

My favorite is the one where she is looking out the window. If you notice for some reason they decided to have her wear high heels in that pic, as if that will sell more condos. Very weird. I like the condos though. THe hardwod floors and the exposed brick are really nice.

It looks like the website at http://www.thebartonstreetlofts.com has been updated with more photos. They also have a display held open on Sundays from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM by the listing broker, St. Louis Premier Realtors, Inc. at 314-241-0008.
