They have been complete for some time now. They are almost full and the lease rates cater to the Wash-U/Barnes crowd. I havn't been inside but you can check out the website via stlouislofts.com and look under CWE developments.
I noticed an ad in the Riverfront Times this week that St. Louis Bread Co was hiring for a new store to be located on the corner of Euclid and Forest Park Pkwy. Does anyone know which building it is going into, possibly Metro Lofts?
Yes, it will be on the west end of the ground floor of Metro Lofts. I assume the Maryland location will remain open if they are advertising for new employees.
Noticed the sign yeaterday. I think it would be a good location, serving mainly the hospital, and some of the area residents. I would not think it would cut too much into the other location's business.
Bakery-Cafe To Open June 13 In Property's West Building
Developer Conrad Properties proudly welcomes its newest Metro Lofts resident ? the St. Louis Bread Company. The popular bakery-cafe will open June 13 in the Metro Loft?s west building located on Forest Park Blvd. between Euclid and Taylor in the Central West End (CWE).
I like the Metro Lofts. A nice, more modern type of building that respects its surroundings.
That intersection of Euclid and Forest Park has really been transformed in the last few years. I especially like the Center for Advanced Medicine on the Southwest corner.
There are some really nice new buildings kind of hidden within the medical complex along Euclid, and more are on the way. I wish they hadn't closed Euclid to through traffic. I still don't understand that one!
By the way, there's some kind of construction going on on the South side of Forest Park between Euclid and Taylor. Anybody know what's up?
I can't answer your question, but you have to think that many of the tax abatements on the pre-recession development projects are going to be expiring soon. I wonder how much this will help city revenues in the next few years. Will we have enough to fund the rehab of City Hall?
Metro Lofts has joined the property tax roles. $345,786.28 or about $170k/acre.
Let's compare that to the large one-story buildings with large parking lots and see which is more productive. If only sales tax receipts were as easy to get as property tax amounts. Anyone know if that's available?
