A new building is supposed to happen at 16th and Locust. It is the east surface lot right next to the Printer's Lofts. I hear it will be a 5 story building and will connect on the second floor to the existing building at 1611 Locust. By doing so, they will create an outdoor courtyard which should be very nice. The building I think will be all lofts on the upper floors and retail at street level.

That sounds great. Do you know anything more about this project?

As far as I know they could break construction as early as this summer or fall. I think they are waiting to make sure the numbers will all work out. But some things I have heard are that all units will have "inset" balconies, it will be 5 stories, big warehouse style windows, there will be an outdoor courtyard and an underground garage that will connect beneath to all three buildings (meaning the new building and the two existing Printer's Lofts buildings). And in the existing buildings you have a nice fitness center and what will soon be a pretty cool rooftop deck. But as these new developments go, they are all subject to change.

Has anyone heard any updates on LoftWorks proposed third Printers loft building?
I believe it was going to be built next to "Building B" on 16th.

It doesn't seem like its something they could do in the very near future (at least at Loftworks). After they finish Moon Brothers they should be pretty busy with Syndicate.

I hear The A Buidling is happening for sure and will happen fairly soon. Just not sure what fairly soon really means.

Nothing new to announce yet. However, they are still working with the design team on plans for building A at Printers, so things still seem to be moving forward on this one.

According to today’s Business Journal, Loftworks, will construct a seven story condo building that will have 36 units and 12,000 square feet of ground floor retail. Construction should start by the end of the year.

New construction?

Niiiiiiice. I'm assuming that this building will be constructed on the vacant lot east of the existing Printer's Loft buildings and west of the Terra Cotta's garage?
Now someone needs to get to work on the Leather Trades Building across the street!

Great news, but my question, having not been back since Thanksgiving, is what's happening to the lot between the B and C buildings for Printers? Is it parking? Would be nice if Danforth wanted to make his plaza using this lot and the one it connects too on washington, as that combined with retail and shops that opened onto it, could be a great space.

1 vacant lot down, 500 to go. Craig Heller is my hero.

Sounds good but that lot is for the retail tenants in building B and C. The Drive Agency is in building B and Simply Fondue is going in building C. Employees, clients, customers, etc. need a place to park.

Several artists I know with studios in the Trades Building are getting kicked out as we speak...
From what I remember, the lot and small building west of the trades building isn't much. Maybe we will see some infill in that space as well.

The storm caused some damage to the Leather Trades building that has pushed the closing back a little while it gets repaired but it's still under contract.
