It's located across from Santo Bento next to the ARCO Construction trailer .. The storefront is due in on the 21st so you'll really notice the change!

I thought prog house was dying as well. I haven't seen as much prog house in the last 3-4 years. STL is a horrible trance loving city. Trance, for the most part, is garbage. There are still a couple producers that can do it right, but those are few and far between.



I'm into a lot of electro now. And Breaks. But I'm still holding true to my roots in progressive, when there are good tracks out there.



Any suggestions on good stuff out now?

Prog is really morphing into the whole electro thing. I like the fact that artists who had been doing epic stuff with 2 minute breakdowns are now actually writing songs which relate to the dancefloor. Check out Palao Mojo (coming to STL soon), Trentemoeller and St. Louis based X-1. The X-1 track, produced by Justin King and Rob Lemon, is (or was) in the Top-10 at Beatport.com. I never really got into the progressive thing, but there are some good things out there...



Here are some of my current favorite artists/producers: Ed Kane, Jimpster, No Assembly Firm, Santiago & Bushido, Spirit Catcher, Trackheadz and Lord Street Heros. Stompy.com is a great source for legal downloading... enjoy.

new thread?... It's exciting to hear others discussing electronic music. I think that most people think "techno" (as the average joe refers to it) sucks. I used to really wish for the day that StL would get a trance/dance/house station but that never/never will happen.



As far as keeping up with the hottest new tracks. I would suggest listening to Sirius Area 33



http://www.di.fm I frequently listen to the trance, beats, dj mixes streams. You can purchase a subscription but the free streams are great!

http://www.Beatport.com is one of the few sites i've found to download. Check the charts for what's popular.

http://www.dance-tunes.com is another, but it's a euro site.



There is a program you can download called streamripper. I recommend that for ripping live streams.



As for what I genres I like, I've been big into electronic music for nearly 10yrs now and I still don't know how to catagorize half the stuff I listen to. All I know is that for the most part I love house, trance, progressive house, and breaks and I don't like ambient, minimal, gao psy, techno, happy harcore, drum and bass.

I'm a big Trentmoeller fan. I loved his remix of Royksopps 'What Else Is There?' Also, Royksopp had their song '49 Percent' remixed by Angello and Ingrosso, I think that was one of the best tracks in the last few years. And I've been going to beatport for a couple years now.



I just wish that we could get a decent dance club back in STL. Velvet rans it's course, but they used to get really great national acts. I went to Dante's and just wasn't impressed.

Lush is moving along on the construction side!

Anyone have thoughts about the look?

I walked through LUSH today and things are looking good for an opening in the next week or so.. the place has great sight lines with 24 foot ceilings and the decor is amazing .. this is first class all the way.. I'll post just as soon as i hear the exact opening date.. see u there.

As long as there are a couple drinks at the Fondue place, also.

Look for the grand opening next weekend .. they have some national press and look to be a St. Louis HOT SPOT!! see u there!

went out with a big crowd of people last night to watch MNF and the topic of LUSH came up. Let's just say that the reviews were not good. Basically every agreed that the layout totally sucked... I'm guessing that this place won't last long.

Went there 2 weeks ago from 10pm-midnight. It was packed. However, it was a really bad setup. Think of a really big rectangle, with a bar on the right side.



Music was OK, but the atmosphere was just BLAH. I felt like I was in an indoor basketball court with a bar and music.



Only good part was being on the mid level watching below.

Heard the first couple of weeks have been quite busy, although younger crowd than expected (heard it was very collegiate).

Opening with a 3 am...nice and way to do it right!!

Sounds like my concerns on how layout would work are playing out.

Hopefully this will not hinder the long-term success of this 2.6MM venture.

Big money club projects do not have a good track record in STL (64 West, Atomix/The Rail).

Will be in town second week of October to check it out myself.

Will give a full report afterwards.

crowd is 25-35 ... dinner just started but is keeping with the same age group maybe 40ish..Chef has quite a resume and i can attest the food is very good and reasonably priced.



in my opinion they do need another stairway to the second level to better handle the sell out crowds .. but the front "waterfall"and lower level VIP areas are quiet enough to talk and still have atmosphere. The 3rd level VIP and outdoor patio are a nice get get away from the crowd space..



other than the access yo the second level it's quite a place .. that's my opinion and you know what they say about opinions .. they're like a**holes .. everone has one and most stink!
