It was a seafood place that closed about 7 or 8 years ago if my memory is right.

I think part of the reason there aren't more sports bars with patios is the middle of the road climate we have here.

I can think of 4 or 5 good sports bars in Atlanta with decent to great patios to watch games. I remember one place in their U City-like hipster area that had two large patios, tons of TVs and the place was a soccer haven. Another one had a patio in back and one in front to keep different college fans separated. But they have good weather year around so patios are a viable option fiancially for business owners. Plus the large transient population helps.

Nashville is also warmer and I can think of three good sports bars with patios. The name escapes me but there's a good one is right there along music row. The front of the place has garage doors that open up in nice weather.

Same way with Chicago and the Twin Cities: a number of good sports bars with patios. But I think they're big there because their winters are so tough. Once the weather is nice people want to be outside. Plus their summers aren't too bad.

But St. Louis sits in the middle and patios aren't quite the draw. Winters aren't tough so we don't rush out in Spring and the summers can be a b*tch. Same way with Cincinatti and Kansas City.

Honestly, is there a bar in the metro area that is Not a sports bar?

NO NO NO NO

I had this question/complaint a few weeks ago about there being no quality places to watch games on sat/sun. Many bars have some tv's and show games and act like they are a sports bar...

this is what i consider a sportsbar..

Must have NFL sunday ticket/college basketball package..

Must offer every game possible

Few or minimal old school CRT televisions

Must have projectors, plasmas

HD, HD, HD, HD, HD

Must walls of screens to watch numerous games at once...

Sound for each table a plus

think Vegas sports book... ie amerisports or sportszone or espn zone

i guess i shouldn't be surprise that the people on this forum (yes this forum is very nerdy... I'll be the first to admit but i still love it and am addicted) aren't the type to be sports nuts...

I believe St. Louis Sports Zone might qualify, at least from what I have heard.

I've tried to think of places, but you're right, there really are no places to sit outside and watch sports. Plenty of nice "patios" out there, but none with very many--if any--tv's outside.

I've never been to a place like that, and I'm having a hard time visualizing the place. What are these outdoor sports bars like?

Unfortunately their website doesn't have photos but this place in Atlanta is one prime example.

This place has two large covered patios with 8 TVs outside in the covered area.
